Causeway BayCauseway Bay, synonymous with shopping in Hong Kong, is always brimming with hectic activities. However, shopping is not the start and end of shopping in Causeway Bay. It is one of the places in Hong Kong where new year eve count-down is organized. Victoria Park, most famous among all Hongkong parks, is also located in vicinity of Causeway Bay. A marine / typhoon shelter is located at its waterfront.

Shopping
Windsor House and Times Square are hubs of shopping in Causeway Bay. Its electronics market is known all over Asia. A slew of entertainment spots, boutiques and department stores are also found here. Causeway Bay caters to every demand of the shoppers. Not only do the glittering malls abound in Causeway Bay but there are also plenty of streets where the tourists who are fond of bargaining can shop to their heart. On weekends some side-streets are even closed to the vehicular traffic so that all space is open for the shoppers.

Noon-day Gun
'Firing of the Noon Day Gun' gathers a little crowd everyday at the Causeway Bay typhoon shelter where it is located. The former naval gun is fired everyday at noon.

Victoria Park
Victoria Park, located in vicinity of Causeway Bay, is a landmark of Hong Kong. It is a major city park and is used as a venue for popular events. Causeway Bay

Tin Hau Region
Tin Hau, east of Causeway Bay, is a comparatively quite place. For tourists with shoestring budgets, Tin Hau is a good place to stay. One can also enjoy here Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, an annually held local festival.

History
Causeway Bay was a silted bay before it was urbanized and land was reclaimed massively. A causeway was built during the early stage of development. It is today known as Causeway Road. The coastline was again forwarded in the 1950s when whatever remained of the bay was reclaimed for developing Victoria Park. Gradually a small fishing village became the heart of Hong Kong.

How to Reach
All kinds of transport mediums connect Causeway to other parts of Hong Kong. One can avail buses, trams, MTR or taxis. MTR is the most convenient yet inexpensive mode for reaching Causeway Bay. The station is on the blue line route of MTR.
