Ocean
Park, most popular tourist attraction in Southern Hong Kong, was
launched in 1977 with the investment of HK$150 billion. Stretching over
170 miles, it stands among the largest ocean parks in the world. Ocean
Park is ranked among the Top Ten amusement parks in the world by Forbes.
The site enjoys approximate 4.5 million visitors every fiscal year.Two Sections
Ocean Park is comprised of two sections. Larger one is one on the headlands of Mount Nanlang while the smaller is in the Huang Zhu Keng Valley lowlands. Both the sections are linked by cable-car.
Ocean Theatre & Wave Cove
Ocean Theatre is the residence of giant sea creatures like dolphins and killer whales. Wave Cove, located nearby, resembles a rocky coastline. It is equipped with a wave-machine which can produce waves up to one metre high. While in the cove, one can see creatures like dolphins, seals, penguins, sea lions and many kinds of sea birds enjoying themselves.
Dinosaur- Now and Then
This section offers vivid dinosaur models, all of them intriguing. Know how the dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago. Two most liked attractions include the Chinese Alligator and Chinese Giant Salamander.
Atoll Reef
Thousands of sea creatures reside in Atoll Reef, the largest aquarium in the world. The Dragon, counted among the longest roller coasters in the world, is the biggest attraction in the amusement park.
Film Fantasia & Ancient World

Film Fantasia is a high-tech theatre having 100 hydraulic seats. The theatre can give one the feel of space adventure. Ancient World has amazing special effects like spectacular sounds, artificial weather, interactive displays and unique lighting.
Dolphin Breeding Center
Visitors can know here daily living habits of dolphins. They can learn the art of protecting this intelligent maritime mammal. Tourists can view at eight bottlenose dolphins including two little dolphins bred by artificial insemination for the first time in the world.
Games & Kid's World
Visitors to the Ocean Park can enjoy exhilarating games like Dragon and Abyss Turbo Drop. Don't worry about your child for the Kid's World would take care of it. To add thrill there is a huge outdoor escalator and the Butterfly House.
Rides
Ocean Park holds more than 14 rides while would provide you loads of thrill during your visit. One of these is Abyss Turbo Drop, which moves vertically on a 185 foot tower. The thrill is gut-wrenching. Another nerve-racking ride is Flying Swing where a gyrating wave pushes the tourists in chairs as high as seven meters.
Mascot
Official mascot of Ocean Park is 'Whiskers', a waving sea-lion.
How to Reach
Public buses can be takes to reach the Ocean Park. However hiring a taxi or car would be more comfortable.
