Having natural depth, it is strategically located between the Kowloon
Peninsula and the Hong Kong Island of Hong Kong, China. It has an area
of about 41.88 sq m. History
Strategic location of Victoria Harbour enticed the British to occupy the island of Hong Kong during the First Opium War, and subsequently establish a trading post. It later developed as a full-fledged colony. Some of the first recreational activities to take place in the harbour were water competitions like swimming and water polo in 1850s.
