Wetlands
Park, a world-class conservation, education and tourism facility, is the
first of its kind in Asia with an ecotourism theme based constructed
wetland. Bird-watching in the Wetlands Park is a good way to escape from
the hectic schedule of Hong Kong city. A visit to the Wetlands Park is a
way of taking a peek at migrating flocks and China across the border.
The park is equipped with a visitor centre to cater to the large crowds,
some eating outlets and an enclosure for the Yuen Long crocodile. The
park has become a tourist attraction that is on tourist guides' lists as
a must-see.Objective and Development
Although Wetlands Park was originally envisaged as an ecological conservation initiative, the concept was expanded to encompass a world-class tourist attraction as well.
The park and visitor center project have blended the conflicting objectives in order to provide a world-class tourist attraction as well as a functioning wetland and educational facility.
